Only My Opinion Matters for Thursday June 9th
Welcome back to another great edition of OMOM! Fresh off of a night where I coined the best phrase of my life. “I think, therefore I’m right.”
Also I’d like to take a moment, so sit right there and let me tell you how I became the Prince of Bel Air….oh wait, sorry. I mean let me tell you about the two newest LOE Staff members making their debuts today with the “company” (Always wanted to say that.) I’ll address them after the news portion of the column. Why wait? Because I know you’ll stick around. To the Funny!
Goldust Tweet-blocked - Are you surprised by this one? WWE, infamous for blocking their employees from you know…having fun, social life’s, family time etc, has finally blocked one of their own form Twitter. No real reason as to why he’s been blocked from using his account. It certainly isn’t because of tweets and fan respect, as Joey Styles is one of the biggest offenders out there. This might be just a “non” story like the whole “Miz breaks his leg” story that Wrestling News Source helped to promote Monday night. Wow, two companies, two digs all at once. I’m a god at cracking insults. For my next joke, I’ll pull something funny out of Dane Cooks career!
Kharma’s baby daddy – This one….IS….HILARIOUS! Apparently Byron Wilcott, who’s been gone since January 2010 from FCW, is claiming to not only be the father of Kharma’s unborn child, but claiming to have proof to support this. Why is this such a story? Kharma is married….and not to Mr. Wilcott. DRAMA ALERT WHOOP WHOOP! That’s my drama alarm. There are legal ramifications to him lying about this as it implies she cheated on her husband and the courts take the sanctity of marriage uber seriously. So until I see her filling a defamation of character lawsuit against this man, you can take to the bank that there is probably some validity to his claims. This is America, just ask Hogan or Angle, here you are guilty until proven innocent. Sorry Kharma. Guess the only thing left to do is call Maury.
Demott’s Not Tough Enough Anymore – Apparently he’s making a return to the ring. Why do I care? I don’t know. I used to be a huge Bill Demott fan back when he was Hugh Morrus, but frankly the WWE killed him, he got old and frankly I don’t think he has the fan support he used to have. If he makes it back onto Raw/Smackdown and actually gets a push….I’ll be shaking my head for a long time.
Chyna Likes Her T and A – Well apparently Chyna hasn’t been approached by TNA about continuing her wrestling career in the company. Shocker. She said that if she was to be approached it’d have to be something amazing for her to come in for. She also said she felts she’s worth it. Listen, I’m all for Chyna wanting to be whatever she wants. But as soon as you start doing hardcore porn, your done. No chance of you coming back from that. No one has ever come back from…wait what….Sean Waltman has… hmm….. Ok well there you go then. Chyna won’t make a return to TNA because lets face it, the days of TNA needing ANY kind of exposure are done. No need to have porn stars hanging around the company.
Well…This Is New – Apparently the creative in TNA, which Bischoff and Hogan are (allegedly) upset with the creative team. The creative team is in a serious state of wanting to push Bobby Roode to the main event spot. But he won’t be the only one going apparently. Also on the rise are rookies Gunner and Crimson. The 27 year old Gunner debuted in late June of last year. He’s had a solid tag team run with Murphy and is now a former TNA T.V. champ. Crimson, the 26 year old, debuted in December of last year. He has no title glory to his name but has wins over former Tag Team Champion Brutus Magnus, as well as a former World Champion in Abyss. While both have huge upsides I worry they might get pushed so hard that the fans give up on them faster then Hulk Hogan in Lex Luger’s Torture Rack.
So before we wrap up today’s column, I want to give a proper shout out to the two new members of LOE Wrestling. First up is Dennis Gates who is joining the staff as a foreign wrestling columnist. With the steady of influx of talent swapping lately with TNA going to Triple A (Mexico) to help promote their TripleMania show and the WWE signing names from CMLL (Mexico) and TNA having a long running partnership with both AJPW and NJPW it’s not surprising that we as a company decided to bring somebody in who’s so well versed in the foreign game. He’ll be the guy who gives us the Mexican and Japanese names who you should know about and what American born stars you should keep an eye out for after resurrecting their careers beyond the borders. Next up is Alex Swisher, by far the youngest member of the team. Alex will bring in his own does of reality in his weekly pod-casts once he’s fixed his technical problems. Alex’s role with the company is still under development but we expect huge things from him.
So that will wrap up tonight’s Nightly Recap. Check out Ed Scoglio’s latest from yesterday and keep an out for Nikki Peterson’s tomorrow. Also Zach Duncan and Alex Valdez have columns out this week as well, as well as Jon Curry. Busy week for LOE Werestling!
Tonight’s song of the day is presented by The West Texas Red Necks I Hate Rap.
If you have the firing burning need to follow me on twitter, it’s ChadLOE @ twitter. You can email me too, that’s chadporto@loewrestling.com, because I’m amazing like that.
Speaking of amazing? You know who is? The guy who sang the theme song for Hey Dude from Nickelodeon. Know who’s not? Our Executive Producer Andrew Campise. Tell him why not at ageoface187@loewrestling.com. Bust his chops, it makes his day! I think….
Well that’s it. Just remember, when writing a column always remember to pay your electricity bill or otherwise you’ll be cut off in mid sen
