Nightly News: Only My Opinion Matters For Thursday, July 12th
Not a lot to cover today folks! But some important stuff for sure! To the funny!
Breaking News: Kharma has apparently been released from the WWE. From her own Twitter account she announced that she had been “promoted to the Alumni section” of WWE.com. She has not officially been added to the Alumni section, so that may just be her tongue in cheek way of saying she’s no longer with the company. A lot of people are living in some sort of denial. I can’t think of one logical reason why a person would confirm their departure from a company unless it’s true. Granted we’ve seen this for story-lines, but this isn’t an angle. The WWE also has a nasty habit of waiting a while before announcing someone is officially gone from the company. So this may be something we don’t hear about for a few days.
Dixie Carter/Spike T.V./Viacom/Direct T.V. – So this mess is still going on. Dixie Carter announced today that Direct T.V. customers will not be viewing Impact Wrestling tonight. Viacom is truly taking the heel role here. AMC, another channel affected by this mess, is allowing Direct T.V. customers to view content via their site until this situation is resolved. There is a push for Spike T.V. to do the same, or at least TNA Wrestling’s web site. Viacom on the other hand is pulling all content from their website that can be viewed as an “alternative viewing option.” They are going to starve their fans until people switch from Direct TV to another provider; thus hurting Direct T.V. the only way Viacom cares about; in the bank account. All this however is causing is uproar against the fans. And since the fans won’t stop watching their favorite shows, Direct T.V. becomes the scapegoat. Direct T.V. is doing all that they can in the matter; giving away discounts, give aways and all kinds of good stuff to keep the fans that are most affected. It’ll be interesting to see who buckles first. If Direct T.V.’s audience is as big as advertised, all they have to do is hold out. Perspective advertisers will not pay Viacom’s price to provide commercials for their shows if only a fraction of the audience is watching. That means less money for shows, less money for the actors, more canceled shows and on and on. Shows with high budgets should be worried about this dragging into “months”. Advertisers do not like losing money.
Masters TNA Rumor - It is being rumored that Chris Masters may be one of the men revealed in the Aces and Eights tonight. The group, which many speculate will be headed by Jeff Jarrett, is still looking to round out it’s roster for their eventual unveiling. The idea is to have them compete at Bound For Glory.
Speaking of Which – We may be seeing a huge tag team match up, that I speculated on earlier this week on our show, where Sting and Hulk Hogan will team up at Bound For Glory to take on the Aces and Eights. While the report only says Sting and Hogan, I can see two more men being added to their team to make it an even fight and to help put over the Aces and Eights as a dangerous group.
That’s it for the news, not a lot, but significant stuff.
With the Kharma and Direct T.V. stuff; I feel only one song can truly capture the day.
That is why, today’s Song of the Day, comes to you from legendary rock band: Queen. With their hit, “I Want To Break Free”.

not surprised if it’s true that Karma is gone. Disappointing though. I looked forward to seeing her decimate the bimbos then square off against Beth
She’s back on the superstars page so it may have just been a mistake. It’ll be something to keep an eye on though obviously.
She never left the superstar page, it was her twitter account that was moved. And her profile is still under hte “@WWE/alumni-following page.
